bill hicks review,
This review is from: The Essential Collection (2CD+2DVD) (Audio CD)
Hugely disappointed with this. The 2 CDs are fine, though material will be known to most fans. The 2 DVDs however are terrible. Simply put, a load of clips of poorly made home movies. All obviously shot from the audience, poorly lit, terrible sound quality. All in all, terrible!

Johnny Walker says:
You do realise that we fans are incredibly happy to finally be able to see the recordings? Most of them were made his brother Steve, and they're the only record of these performances. I understand that you were expecting a whole new high quality performance even though Bill died 18 years ago -- but it ain't going to happen! The best we're ever going to get is to see these early performances -- every official release of Hicks was from the early 90s, and these are the only records of what he was doing in his early years.
Really I don't understand how anyone could complain about these. It's like complaining about the quality of the studio outtakes of the Beatles in Abbey Road... this is an incredibly rare glimpse into the Bill most of us never saw!
