This review is from: The Escape Manifesto: Quit Your Corporate Job - Do Something Different! (Paperback)
Anyone who has followed http://www.escapethecity.org/ over the past few years will know what this is about - escaping the trap of the `ideal' corporate job to try and get a bit more out of life and work.
In many respects, The Escape Manifesto has the same sensible advice that you will find in other careers books - ascertain your values, make sure you plan... However, this book has one crucial difference. It is written by Generation Y for Generation Y - the style, recommendations and information are bang up to date and clearly reflect the rapidly changing modern workplace.
It's also a great example of a digital book - readable and jam packed with references to source material, YouTube videos and TED talks, as well as being peppered with inspirational quotes from a huge variety of `escapees'. This book has been both incredibly useful and fun to read.
The elements of self-help will also be appreciated by those who have planned/executed/dreamed about their escape from corporate monotony and found that the psychological barrier to leaving a safe but ultimately life-sapping job is the hardest one to conquer.
Thanks for the help guys! I'm nearly ready for the next step...
