Should have gone to Garmin,
This review is from: TomTom XXL IQR Edition 5" Sat Nav with Full Europe Maps (42 Countries) (Electronics)I bought this item in April 2011. It was childs play to set up and get working. Very clear screen and directions. It was supposed to have "latest map guarantee" which means you can download the latest version of the map for 30 days after purchase. When I tried it said my guarantee had expired. I contacted TomTom customer care and they just messed me about.. they wanted purchase proof which I sent .. that was not good enought.. they wanted "system information" which I sent but then they just ignored me from then on and I never got the update map. The customer care person I dealt with did not have good command of english and I think I largely got a bunch of formula replies.
When testing the item I went on a local fifteen mile journey and found three map mistakes in that short trip.I have half a mind to return it and buy a Garmin.
I also e mailed the seller Pentagon GPS to ask why I hadnt got my latest map guarantee but they just wouldnt answer me.I wonedr if they had sent me a "used" model

Pentagon should get the negative feedback from you. You are supposed to be reviewing the Sat Nav which is a 5 star product. It's hardly Tomtom's fault that you purchased from a duff seller.

In your opinion it is a 5 star product. I like many have had to return the product due to the faults when updating the maps (which is tom toms fault ) and is a very common problem which they still have failed to rectify. So don't jump on anyone else's opinion just because it doesn't agree with yours .

pentagon got the negative feedback...here...this being the only forum in which to post the feedback. The tom tom is not a 5 star product if I find two mistakes on local roads in 15 miles.I osted the good and the bad..thats a fair review.
