This review is from: A Prison Diary: Volume 1 - Hell (Paperback)
I found this book an amazing read! Why? Because it made compelling reading. I started to read and found that I just couldnt put it down until I had finished it! Then I wanted to go on and read the next two as quickly as possible. If that is the effect it had on me then this is surely the test of any good read.
Archer provides a vivid glimpse of his own life experiences while in prison. The effect it had on me was that I felt I was actually there with him, and rarely do I find a book that has such a powerful effect.
Some of the finest experiences that life has to teach are often learned through the eyes of other people, via their personal recollections, experiences and mistakes. That alone is reason enough to buy this book and share in a sometimes hellish journey of man totally unprepared for what awaited him.
