A great overview of Studio Ghibli's history,
This review is from: Studio Ghibli: The Films of Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata (Paperback)I really enjoyed this book. It was very insightful, giving each and every project the two animation masters ever worked on a well-deserved mention and, at least for the most popular ones, a pretty thoughtful analysis. The writing itself was vivid and interesting to read.
As an introduction to the studio it is a great place to start, other than the movies themselves. If you're already a big Ghibli fan, as I am, you might not discover much new information, but it's still a great buy as it's a very convenient overview. I would have liked it if there were a bit more pictures, there were only some in the middle of the book, but all in all this was a solid release.
Highly recommended for any Ghibli fan, or fans of great animated films in general.
