First i ever heard of Jeff Buckley was a lazy sunday afternoon poll on VH1, rating the top 100 men in rock and pop. Everyone waxing lyrical about the beauty of Jeff's voice and what a tragic loss his death was intrigued me into buying this CD. Well I wasn't disappointed. For three days now i've found it hard to take the CD out of my walkman and its straight on the stereo when i get home. Favourites are definitely, 'The Last Goodbye', 'Hallelujah' and 'Lover, You should of come over'. His voice is stunning there's no doubting that but along with the lyrics and depth of the music it makes for pretty haunting stuff at times. A quiet room, headphones and 'Hallelujah' played high is enough to make anyone lose themselves for 6 mins, its bliss. Just buy it and see for yourself. Jeff had the nack of writing lyrics that really hit home, the kind of things we've all thought of or felt at times but not had the genius to put down on paper or to music, a rare skill and one to treasure!
