3.0 out of 5 stars Works Well But is Water Resistant NOT Waterproof as Advertised, 19 Aug 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: PATHFINDER 21 LED Headlamp Headlight - Water-resistant. 4 Modes Of Operation, Head Safety, Lamp, Flash Light, Torch For Cycling, Climbing, Mountain Biking, Camping, Night Reading. Adjustable Beam Angle. 100,000 Hours LED lifetime (in RETAIL PACKAGING) (Electronics)
A lot of these LED headlights look the same but are far from it. This one works properly and is superior to a 19 LED unit I recently bought which stopped working after 5 minutes. However I have given only 3 stars because it is described as Waterproof when the packaging clearly states water resistant. The 2 specifications are miles apart and the seller has infered a much higher specification that what is actually delivered.

I got this head torch to use as an emergency light when on long mountain walks but also use it when I'm in the loft or checking things out on the car as it's a god send for hands-free working or searching for stuff. I now wouldn't use it as an emergency light. It's still working but, as other reviewers have said, the cap on the LED lights can twist easily and come off leaving the LED lights exposed so put some black electrical tape to stop it moving is my suggestion. Sometimes the LEDs do flicker but I bang it and they generally come on properly again. It's bright but not waterproof, shower proof maybe. For the money it's fine but if you need a head torch to rely on (e.g. mountain rescue) then you'll have to buy a Petzl at 3 to 6 times the price depending on model. Hope this helps.
