This review is from: Hot Fuzz (2 Disc Special Edition) [DVD] (DVD)Hot Fuzz: A twisted comedy with a complicated plot of betrayal and full throttle action, a hit blockbuster of 2007 that uniquely combines action with comedy. The film has a certificate of 15 due to explicit scenes of horror and glimpses of gore, although the overall mixture combines well, creating a movie unlike any other of its competitors on the market.
It Stars Simon Pegg, who plays a police officer, that is perhaps to good at his tight London job finds himself in deeper than he had expected when he is sent to a quiet village to fight what he thought was non existent crime. The not so perfect village is fact riddled with secrets of clever murder and cunning deceit. It seems as though everyone is on the plot, as each clue and piece of the puzzle slots in with ease towards the very end of the film. Surprises continue to a wait around every corner. The cop stars excellently as the hot middle aged hero that blasts onto the scene with an uproar of action.
The director, Edgar Wright trademarks the film with his superb style of camera shots and stamps it with a surprising plot. Hot Fuzz is yet another hit that follows Edgar's successful films such as Shaun of the Dead and Run Fat Boy Run.
The scenes are action packed with car chases, crime scenes, fights and full on battles with weapons of demolition. Unlike your usual action film this one has a comical twist that adds a subtle tone down to the violence that is filtered throughout. Hot Fuzz is a laugh out loud comedy with funny catchphrases and hilarious scenes which involves the viewer well, a good film for a night in with your mates.
