Excellent full HD projector,

For: I am very happy with it. It replaced a Benq PE7700 DLP 720p projector with lower lumens. The improvement in definition over 720p is very noticeable and the image is still good in daylight, unless in direct sunlight, and is stunning in a blacked out room. It was very easy to set up and the remote, like the Benq remote, lights up which is good in a darkened room.
Against: nothing major. My AV amp decided to output sound via the HDMI cable so the projector's speakers picked up the sound (more the amp's problem!) and, although the fans are reasonably quiet, if you are immediately under the projector it makes a mechanical 'whirring & scratching' noise when there are picture either changes or 'fades through black', which can be a little distracting.
The machine screws that attach it to my projector mount needed to be smaller than for my Benq projector. Epson support were unable to tell me the spec for these screws, and suggested that I buy their Epson mount for about £150! I found the correct ones in B&Q for a couple of pounds. If you have the same problem, you need machine screws of metric dimensions: 4x12mm (or 3/16" x 1/2" in Imperial.) In B&Q the product code is AVF-853647 and barcode 5 020789 853647. Happy viewing!
