This review is from: Paul for Everyone: Romans Part 2: Chapters 9-16: Romans 2 (New Testament for Everyone) (Paperback)
It took me quite a while to finish this book compared to others in Tom Wright's "For Everyone" series of commentaries on the New Testament.I found it much heavier going probably since Paul's letter to the Romans is possibly the most difficult to understand of Paul's epistles. The book is written in the author's customary anecdotal style and it amazes me how many personal stories he can effortlessly write about throughout the "For Everyone" series . He seems to have had a particularly full life full of incident. This book, like all of his others, is well written and doesn't use deep, hard to understand ,theological language. Mr Wright's book has helped me to understand the Bible better and has reinforced my faith.

Many consider Paul's letter to the Romans as being 'his' gospel, a summation of his mature theology. It is hardly surprising you found it heavy going-there is an awful lot to get through. Some theologians have spent almost a lifetime studying Paul's theology, so don't be hard on yourself
