Great follow up in the series,

This review is from: Trespasser (Hardcover)
I recently read Paul Doirons first book "The Poacher's Son" and found it to be very good. So I bought the next two ones. "Trespassers" and "Bad Little Falls". They are all about a young Maine Game Warden, Mike Bowditch, and what he is caught up in.
Paul Doiron writes a very convincing story about the wilder parts of Maine and the people living there. The Young Game Warden (in the US that is a police man)is constantly caught up in a number of minor crimes as well as some more terrible murders. For some reason he can't stay out of ongoing investigations and he is pushed along in the story, sometimes by his own ideas and sometimes by other events that he has no control over. The story develops well and the end is terrific.
Sometimes you wonder why he does things against better judgment but on the other hand his girlfriend is also saying and doing things that are a little to strange but Mr Doiron manages to create a well flowing story out of that. Mr Doiron has good control over his writing and the people and environment he describes are very well done.
A book well worth reading. On to the next one!
