Find the torch, burn the product description.,
This review is from: Find the Torch, Burn the Plans (Audio CD)
This really is a very, very good film.
It features a double whammy of Paul's stellar performance at the Royal Albert Hall, featuring Kelly Jones of Stereophonics, live performances at the BBC Theatre, music promotional video for 7&3 (Is the strikers name) and a film directed by Julien Temple (Sex Pixtols, Glastonbury films)
This DVD is jam packed but the packaging and product description is somewhat of a pain. It lists twelve tracks at the RAH, when in reality there are far more songs played. The track listing for the gig goes roughly as follows:
From the floorboards up
Up the dosage
Shout to the top
You do something to me
One bright star
Erin rifles (w/ Kelly Jones)
That's entertainment (w/ Kelly Jones)
Fast car/slow traffic
Why walk, when you can run?
All on a misty morning
Brand new start
Pieces of a dream
Probably more songs but my memory fails me. There are nearer thirty songs played live rather than twelve and a few rare Jam and Style council numbers in there too, backed by a great band and a violin section.
I really enjoyed this DVD and would expect any other Weller fan to enjoy it too. If you are not too familiar with Paul's back catalogue this is an excellent starting point.
