Buy the US Version - This remixed version is horrendous,
This review is from: Come On Over (Audio CD)
The USA version of this album, which I own, is fabulous. It is a perfect hybrid of country and pop music. However, for the 1998 and 1999 reissues, Mercury decided to (why, I do not know) remix a fabulous album into something which was just, well, rubbish. All country instruments were removed to give the album a more "pop" feel (such as fiddles and guitars) and were resampled with mush. The catchy guitar hook in "Love Gets Me Every Time" was replaced with a guitar solo SO quiet it may as well be silence. The fantastic duet with Bryan Whyte, "From This Moment On", was edited and changed into a Shania solo. The UK Dance mix of "That Don't Impress Me Much" is an abomination, and the house reworking of "If You Wanna Touch Her! Ask!" is devastating to hear. The fact that people bought this album and gave it bad reviews is horrendous - if you want a real judge of Shania's talents as a singer-songwriter with Robert John "Mutt" Lange, buy the US version which is superior.
