This review is from: The Compassionate Mind (Compassion Focused Therapy) (Paperback)This book was recommended to me by my therapist and I am very glad to have taken up his recommendation. If you are the sort of person who constantly blames yourself for everything that you percieve to be wrong in your world then you need to read this book.
The compassion in the title isnt the compassion you feel for third world starvation or flood victims etc. It is for yourself. When you read this book, I pop in and out of it rather than read it like a novel, you learn to feel and percieve things differently and the guilt and disappointment you may be feeling about events that have occurred in your live so far is lifted off your shoulders. Its like having a ball and chain removed from your life.
Personally I see this book as the begining of me understanding why I see myself and my world the way I do and therefore eventually learn to live the free life I have been yearning for for years. I hope that you get the same effect.
