This review is from: Les Miserables - The 25th Anniversary in Concert at the O2 [DVD] (DVD)
I have been a fan of Les Mis for years, but the 25th Anniversary concert took my breath away. The show itself was everything you would expect from an all star cast, but the real magic came at the end when 4 legendary Jean Valjean's sang 'Bring him home'. in 25 years, Colm Wilkinson has lost none of the power and magic in that amazing voice.
One niggle, but not enough to mark it down, was that the producers continued the recent theme of having a pop star play Marius. Nick Jonas is ok, good even, but totally out-classed by every one else on the stage (and with the choir, there were 500 of them). It's not his fault, he isn't trained for it.
A once in a lifetime event. I doubt it will happen again, so I recommend this DVD/Blue ray; it will be your only chance to enjoy this spectacular concert.
Can't wait for the DVD release.
