1.0 out of 5 stars Got the Brazilian version with the flip top, did not like, 3 Jun. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Vita Coco Natural Coconut Water 1 Litre (Pack of 4) (Grocery)
I'm impressed with the Amazon service and was delighted to find out that Amazon sells Vita Coco at such good price... only to place an order and was sent a pack of the Brazilian version.

From my experience there are 2 versions of Vita Coco, Indonesian (with the screw top), and Brazilian (with the flip top). The Brazilian ones have much older manufacture dates (Amazon sent me a pack from August 2013), while the Indonesian ones (bought from Ocado, Sainsbury's or Waitrose) normally have 2014 dates. On top of that, the Indonesian version tastes 100 times better, while the Brazilian one is just weird. NOT COOL!

It's such a pity since I would prefer to buy from Amazon over any other retailers, but if only there is a way to request that only the Indonesian version should be sent.

This has been very helpful!!!!!

I received my delivery today and completely agree with your comment re:the taste of the Brazilian option.

I actually thought that I had been sent a batch of counterfeit drinks! The authentic coconut flavour is not there and it seems to be loaded down with sugar.

I am very disappointed with this purchase. I actually set up a subscription, in the belief that this was the regular great tasting Indonesian version.

I definitely will be canceling it forthwith!!!

Yeah thanks for the heads up on this one. Looks like the Brazilian version is still being sent out, along with a one from the Philippines, which seems to be a better one than the Brazilian version, if anyone has any feedback with this one, please comment. Thanks
