Best headphones i've ever bought...,
This review is from: Beats by Dr Dre Pro High Performance Professional Headphones - White (Electronics)OK, I don't want to sound like some idiot who just bought headphones because they were manufactured in the name of a famous rapper. But i'm afraid I may come off as this type of person whatever I say. OK, here goes:
A while back I bought a pair of Sennheiser HD228's. I wasn't impressed. A month later, they stopped working. The jack had snapped off. So I went for another brand; Bose.
I walked into the Bose shop and a helpful shop assistant showed me the models on sale, which ranged from £100 to £325 in price. They were all much better than my crappy Sennheisers so I went online and I looked at some reviews. Amidst the hundreds of reviews of Bose fanboys preaching about how amazing their expensive headphones were I found a few rather frightening reviews. They explained how the jack plug came loose from the headphones and then told how they had to send their headphones away to get repaired. In some cases, this happened more than once. So I was on a hunt for a new brand again...
I browsed through various brands, ranging from Skullcandy and JVC to Grado Labs and Pioneer. Then I heard Beats by Dre Studios. The bass response was impressive but a little overpowering but none-the-less a great sounding pair of cans. So I was about to buy a pair when I heard about a top-line pair of headphones being developed by Dre: The Pro's. So I waited and waited and waited, months and months, till they came out and I bought them on release day.
I've been in ecstasy ever since.
The trebles are incredibly clear. I was listening to some Jovi acoustics and man... every single note is clear as crystal and i've discovered highs i've never experienced before.
The bass is ridiculous. I was listening to some Megaherz - a german Industrial band - and the bass made my brain vibrate.
I'm not an expert, or an audiophile, but I am extremely pleased with these headphones. Anyone who said they were built specifically for Hip-Hop is lying, because they make EBM sound absolutely ground-breaking and do a great job for rock, pop and metal too... so don't let that put you off!
Now, the few things I dislike about these headphones is the looks you get and the occasional person coming up to you, for example on my University Campus, and asking to try on your headphones. It's rather amusing, but rather annoying at the same time. That and the fact that the cable is so LONG. It would be OK if a shorter cable was supplied (like with the Studios) but it seems that Monster are way too stingy to possibly provide two cables with £350 headphones. Disappointing, Monster. Disappointing.
Lastly, a bit of false advertising led me to believe they were dual channel headphones when really one is an input channel and one is an output channel. I was pretty pissed off when I learned of this.
Still, very minor flaws, and you could drive over them with a tank and they'd survive. Fünf Sterne!! (Five Stars)

Do they leak sound at all? I've been trying to get some decent over ears for library\bus\getting from A to B and so need some that don't allow the person next to you to hear everything you're listening to! (Like my current sony pair do.. It's like wearing small speakers!) Thanks!

Mr. Liam Kilcoyne says:
Yes i know it's a very late reply but it's as if there is a massive speaker in the room, so using it somewhere like a library is not going to happen, while on the bus i got a few complaints

Mr. D Diplock says:
Are these even original? do they have a serial code at the side ( near the ear cups )? There's something fishy why amazon is selling them for £269.99? when in retail stores they are priced £349? Hmmm..? it doesn't sound right to me. first of all how are they gonna make a profit out of it if they sell it cheap? they're the one's who will most likely have a loss on their sales and profits. One thing that questions me are they REAL or just FAKES. FAKES that are over priced making you think that they are original with its really not.
