one of the greatest collections of greatest hits of all time,
This review is from: The Platinum Collection: Greatest Hits I, II & III (Audio CD)
This collection has it all, you could not ask for more out of a collection of greatest hits. Although the third greatest hits does contain numerous covers, it still doesn't let the album down, but gives it more variety with performances by artists such as George Michael.
The first greatest hits is the definitive collection, with so many great songs such as 'Killer Queen', an absolute classic, and the songs everyone knows such as 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'We are the champions', 'we will rock you' and 'another one bites the dust'. These are all classics as well as the other tracks on the first greatest hits, i can't think of another single disc of greatest hits which is as good as the first greatest hits by Queen.
The second greatest hits isn't quite as good in my opinion but none the less is still a great disc, even though there are a few songs which i don't like on this disc, whereas the first there were virtually none.
The third might seem like a bit of an amalgamation of the previous two greatest hits which it is to a certain extent. However, i feel that it is the live performances and performances by other artists which makes this disc interesting and v. good. I particularly like 'somebody to love' which was performed live by George Michael. It does still, however, have new tracks such as 'living on my own' and 'driven by you' which make the album seem more original and different to the other two.
All in all, this is essential to any 'Queen' fan, it contains the best of the best, and is great value for money.
