far more lush than the dvd,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Phantom of the Opera [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
I already had the dvd of this but leant it out, and as usual it was never returned. So I ordered it on blu ray thinking well it cant possibly be any better than the dvd.
How wrong could I be? The colours are FAR more amazing, the sound is incredible and the clarity outstanding.
If you are a fan of this film its worth paying that little bit more for the blu ray.

DM Bunny says:
With all respect, I think you've fooled yourself regarding the sound - it's true that the colours are beautiful on a blu ray player but the sound is shockingly absymal for a blu ray disc. It's not that it sounds bad - it's just they haven't done anything to it for the high definition experience. It is the same dolby digital 5.1 track that appears on the dvd. Even the hd-dvd release had true hd 5.1 sound. Another budget UK release and hugely disappointing for audiophiles.

Hi, This BD has a lossless DTS-HDMA 5.1 track as well as a standard Dolby Digital track. The Reviewer was right - the audio on this disc is incredible and the complete opposite of 'shockingly abysmal' as Michael Brennan put it!
