The best way to watch a brilliant movie,

This review is from: Les Misérables (Blu-ray + Digital Copy + UV Copy) (Blu-ray)
I've been a fan of Les Mis for years and have seen it both in London and on Broadway. As a result, I was very nervous about seeing Hollywood potentially ruin a great musical. They didn't, and there are some simply superb performances here. You don't get the same stage presence, but Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman in particular were simply superb and something of a revelation.
My first exposure to the film was trying to watch it in the economy section on a flight to Kenya last year, I could see potential but was unsure how good it really was. I'm delighted that I bought the Blu-Ray version in the end, though, because this film cries out for you to pull the curtains, settle down with a glass of wine and turn the sound up high.
I'll still go back to the stage to see it again, for everything the stage version can offer that a film just can't offer, but for the other times, when I simply want superb entertainment in my own lounge, it will be this with a nice bottle of Cab-Sauv!
