I am so, so happy I got this. I was quite sceptical, as I couldn't quite imagine how the device would work. I was intrigued by the wave maker, but needed a decent hair dryer. I was look for something not too heavy, and it's size is perfect. I wanted cool shot, and it has one, and even better, it has 3 temp settings and two speed settings, so I can blowdry my (sensitive) son's hair too.
As for the wave attachment... wow. How did someone think to invent this? I've always loved the idea of curls, but could never do it the way I liked. For example, I got a set of heated rollers which I used about 5 times... too much hassle. I would sometimes scrunch wet hair as it's drying with a diffuser, but that wouldn't really curl it enough. What I started doing these last few years is semi-dry it, then divide hair in half, twist it and pin up till dry, but that would be haphazard, not always turning out right. In comparison, this is by far the coolest, easiest to use item ever. I have medium-thin hair, slightly layered, past my shoulders. If I use product and blow dry it right, it can have a lot of body and has a very slight wave; not stick straight, just wonky. I've used this about 2 weeks. Depending on how much curl I want, I alter the settings. Remember the 3 temp settings? Experiment. In any case, if I do not use ANY product, my hair will hold a gentle wave. If I use a bit of mousse, It can get mega curls and hold most of the day. If you dry thin sections, it creates more curly curls, if you dry thick sections, it is more wavy.
I start by semi-drying it, then holding head upside down, I just do it 5 thick chunks. Then right side up, get my part, and do whatever I missed until it is finished. After the 5 min of semi-drying, It takes maybe 5-10 minutes for me!!! If the angle is weird you can rotate attachment on the hairdryer until it's better (for the back of your head, etc).
The only thing I would add would be a swivel on the cord. But I give it 10 outta 10 for ingenuity, quality, and ease of use.
