This review is from: The Cholestrol Myths: Exposing the Fallacy That Saturated Fat and Cholesterol Cause Heart Disease (Paperback)
This is possibly the most important book anyone could read in their life, but why is it so expensive? I can't help thinking that there must be some kind of commercial pressure at work here - possibly a publisher issue that makes this book more rare than it should be. I can't imagine how this would work, but it seems obvious to me that where there is a huge amount of big-industry money at stake (I am talking about the low-fat industry now), then all kinds of devious things can happen. It makes sense to take this book very seriously for this very reason. Ten years ago this was the first book to properly address the idea that we have all been hoodwinked for the last 50 years by a profit-based diet religion, which has more to do with the government endorsed sale of agricultural commodities, and feeding an over-populated planet with cheap low-quality food, than it has about real individual health. Now there are a dozen or so books on the same subject. The message is finally getting across, albeit slowly, as there are still a very large percentage of people who don't actually read books and rely on TV, newspapers and magazines - and all the celebrity morons who propagate the same old dietary dogma. It appears it really is possible to die of stupidity!
Other authors that are well-worth reading are: Gary Taubes, Malcolm Kendrick, Sally Fallon and Mary Enig.
