Ok For Starters,
This review is from: Dave Gahan: Depeche Mode & The Second Coming (Paperback)
I would agree that it's easy reading - I finished it in two nights. It's well researched, and does offer some insights into the tensions in the band, and Dave's personal fall and rise. In the absence of an official autobiography, it's the next best thing. The only thing I found a bit frustrating was that it hasn't been proof-read that well, and there are quite a few errors, at least in my edition. Vince Clarke is referred to as "Vince Martin" at one point, and the song "Barrel Of a Gun" is titled as "Bullet From A Gun" in one instance. I'm nit-picking really, but these little things detracted from what is otherwise a good read. It does succeed in the sense that it makes you want to listen to the albums again, and it made me come rushing to Amazon to order the DVD of "101"!

Hi Sally. It's no error that Vince Clarke is referred to as Vince Martin. That's his real name. Should you read Depeche Mode Stripped - all will be revealed as to why the name change.
