buy a spare filter!,
This review is from: Vax C89-MA-B Air Multicyclonic Bagless Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner (Kitchen & Home)
This is a decent enough vacuum - at first. It's light, compact, and maneouverable. Even stairs are not too bad.
Now the downsides:
1) The 'primary separator' gots clogged up with fluff and hair, and needs emptying every 5 minutes. Mind you, after 5 minutes' housework I need a little break anyway, so this is not too onerous.
2) The tools (upholstery brush etc) clip onto the hose, but tend to fall off as you vacuum, so are never there when you want them.
3) The main filter gets clogged in no time at all. It then takes 24 hours to dry after washing. I have had to buy a spare filter so as to have one in use and one in the wash (cost £13 or so). I have also had to dismantle the cyclone under the filter to clean it out properly - a tricky job.
On the plus side, it has a nice large, easily emptied dust collection compartment. But a huge amount of the stuff it picks up never finds its way into this compartment, having clogged up the aforementioned primary separator and filter and cyclones instead.
If you are prepared to shell out an extra £13 for a spare filter, and spend almost as much time cleaning out the machine as you spend cleaning your floors with it - it's perfect. if not, buy something else.
