Feehan does it again!,
This review is from: Shadow Game (Game/Ghostwalker) (Mass Market Paperback)
I was a little surprised when Christine Feehan deviated from her magic centred works and decided to write a sci-fi, militaristic series. I could not be anymore impressed! The Ghostwalker series...
Along with other military soldiers, Captain Ryland Miller volunteered for a government funded psychic enhancement program. The men begin to suspect something is amiss when a few of their fellow soldiers have died and they've been put under constant surveillance. They're even locked in state of the art cages.
The experiments are being conducted by Dr. Peter Whitney who suddenly disappears, but not before bringing his daughter Lily in to help him. Lily is thrown in at the deep end and is unsure why here father has brought her in on this assignment. Much to her surprise, she has a deep, instantaneous connection with Ryland. Together maybe they can save themselves and their team
Shadow Game is a colourful miasma of action, sensuality and brilliance, beautifully woven into a really, great storyline. But the best of it is the dialogue: It's a great blend of wit, romance and tough-guy talk that was mesmerizing and entertaining. The plot unfolds at a slow pace but the almost animal attraction between Lily and Ryland hits you hard in the face from the moment they meet. There are so many twists to the story that you're left with a few unanswered questions, but the end leaves you satisfied and anxious for the next instalment.
