Great for budding explorers,
This review is from: Not For Parents How to be a World Explorer (Lonely Planet) (Hardcover)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This children's publication from Lonely Planet is split into eight sections (Jungle & Savannah, Desert, Polar, Forest & Mountain, Oceans & Rivers, Air, Navigation, and Explorer Bootcamp) with each one covering many aspects of survival such as travel, shelter, animals, dangers and food. Geographical tips, scientific facts and historical explorers are all interspersed into bite-sized paragraphs with clear subheadings, labelled pictures, diagrams and instructions. I would have liked to see some photographs and maps alongside the drawings to give a greater sense of what these places are like. Overall I would recommend this to children aged 7-11 who are interested in travel and exploration.
