2.0 out of 5 stars bad move, 6 July 2008
This review is from: The Morecambe & Wise Show - The Thames Years [DVD] [1978] (DVD)
Shame they had to leave the BBC,the sketches were mostly the same as with the beeb, they left to make films and make more money,The only film they made was terrible.they just lost their touch like so many others who jumped to the other side for more money like Parky, plus the dam adverts and more important Eric's health, they should have stayed with the BBC and retired soon after,i just cannot recommend this, all i can say is the best years were between 1969 after Hills and Green left and 1977 when they left for Thames

ITV=Independent Television, of which Thames TV was a regional provider.

John Colman says:
They made four films in fact:
The Intelligence Men
That Rivieira Touch
The Magnificent Two
Night Train to Murder

The Intelligence Men is absolutely hilarious and the others are quite watchable at worst.
The first three films were made during their BBC years, if that's your point, but the latter was made a full five years after their move to Thames so it renders that part of your argument a little moot.

Bitter narrow-minded old man. It's like a listening to a broken record reading your posts! If only they really could invent a time machine and we could send you back to the 50's where you belong!

Wow David, you wrote 8 words in two minutes! May I also congratulate you on the eloquence of your writing. Did you learn that expression at Oxford or Cambridge?
