I loved the Jam. I didn't like the Style Council. I've dipped into Weller's solo stuff a couple of times and enjoyed it, but have not been hooked. This album has changed that. It's nearly perfect. The variety and quality of music and songs is great and he has achieved a new peak with his vocals. After a year I find myself still playing it regularly. This has made me collect other solo Weller albums which have also been well played over the last few months. Anyone can start with Weller with this album. Or if you are wondering whether to get back into him I can heartily recommend 22 Dreams. Great gig too.
