STICK GREAT - SHAME ABOUT THE REST,
This review is from: Thrustmaster T.16000M Joystick (PC) (Video Game)
First of all I should say that the Flight-Stick element of this product is Excellent, Very Sensitive and alterable to your hand-Style - Giving a really Lovely feel to your Aviation manouvering. (the only problem here is the BRIGHT GREEN LIGHT around its base which lights up each time you move the flight stick, ENTIRELY POINTLESS, and if you like to fly in a Dimly lit room is horrible and ruinous to atmosphere - ( I Love to fly the old WW1 - and occasionallly WWII - propeller planes)...Perhaps, if you were into the Modern F16 JET Type flying machines it might add atmosphere, but I had to paint over the whole thing.
The main trigger which is nice, precise and has real solid 'CLICK' to it.
The Truly Crying Shame of this product are the Buttons : ALL have NO sense of 'Clickyness' to them at all...
Also, EVERY SINGLE ONE of them feel wobbly and loose in their seatings giving them the feel of a real cheapo poorly made plasticky product - Worst by far of all is the Throttle Slider which is loose, and has no sense at all of that gentle traction you need to make subtle adjustments to throttling : it just slithers up and down and feels awful to use :(
The Ambidextrous Nature of the product (which, being left handed, drew me to it) is really well thought out, and easy to change over one to the other.
With some fine tuning and some (Please Gods) re-Engineering of the Button / Throttle Design (and maybe even a little OFF button for the mysterious Green Light- (which seems to be nothing more than distracting 'Snazzyness') this COULD be an All Time Classic - ...as it is, mine is sitting in it's box under the bed as I Return to my old SAITEK
Truly a Damn Shame...Could have been so good...Now just something Sub-Par for "Antiques Roadshow 2134"
