2.0 out of 5 stars Much Much Too Pricey, 27 Jun 2012
This review is from: Sony PlayStation 3D Monitor (Accessory)
This item gets mostly excellent reviews online for everything except its price. The price on USA Amazon.com is $235:00. This price difference is appalling. I appreciate it was available in USA probably 6 months before we got it in UK. But to stock it at this price is shocking. Though to be fair to Amazon I cannot find it cheaper anywhere else in the UK, yet.
To buy a much larger 3D TV would make more sense and some of the LG 3D TVs do the Dual Player Full Screen business with slightly different 3D glasses than the ones supplied.
If the price ever drops to a reasonable level I will buy it and I expect it will deserve 5 stars !!!

Paul Swift 3 says:
Just do yourself a favour mate and go plasma. 3D is only REALLY possible to a satisfactory degree on 600hz+ plasma tv sets. LCD or LED are only 200hz/240hz and its just NOT capable of clear 3D images and they suffer from crosstalk. Crosstalk is the achilles heel of ALL non plasma sets. Its when the 3D image has a double vision over nearly all the things that are on the screen but is worse at the edges of the screen be it the top, bottom, left or right.
I learnt this the hard way by trying 2 LCD/LED sets, one Samaung the other Sony and the 3D was hopeless. So i did some research on the web and found out that its plasma sets that are the way to go if you want 3D in your life mate. Even if you paid the equivalent of the $230 USA price, you'll still only be buying the PS family logo on the tv.
For around 400 you can buy a 50 inch plasma 3D set and the 3D will be PROPER clear HD clarity. Dont go down the LG route either. Their sets are all Passive 3D which splits the resolution in half so your 1080p bluray will only be 540p. On a good 3d tv set the best you can hope for when 3D gaming on your PS3 will be 720p......barely. On an LG set it would HALF THAT!
