This review is from: The Garner Files: A Memoir (Hardcover)Having been a life-long fan of James Garner I really looked forward to this autobiography(?). Alas, what a disappointment. It was full of nothing. The one thing he did go into detail about was - his illnesses - so thanks for that information Mr.Garner - it is something I will cherish. The films made with Doris Day which I think helped his career immensely were not even mentioned. I know that stars like to keep their families out of the limelight but if one is writing an autobiography then surely fans that bought his book should be given a little insight into his private life at this late stage of his life!

Alexander T. Newport says:
The cover of the book clearly states it is a "MEMOIR" and not an autobiography. There IS a difference. Too bad you didn't know or realize that before you wrote your horrible review of an excellent MEMOIR.
And by the way, he most certainly DID mention his films with Doris Day. How could you have missed that if you supposedly read the book? Answer: You didn't read it. That makes your review absolutely worthless.
