5.0 out of 5 stars At last excellent transfer for an excellent film., 8 May 2014

This review is from: Gregory's Girl [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
The transfer for this blu ray was surprisingly much better than I expected - pinewood have restored it and it looks very very good and in the widescreen format. This is far far better than previous UK dvd releases of this wonderful film. The extras are also good including a decent commentary with Bill Forsyth and Mark Kermode.

Highly recommended - a decent treatment to an excellent british film.

Yes I agree totally James- I never thought that the 'grain' on DVD copies in the past could ever be removed.

A fantastic transfer of a landmark British film....The definitive version.

The telecine wobble in the beginning titles had me worried but overall I think they did a decent job and it's certainly a big improvement over previous DVD releases. Of course this hasn't been restored like Lowry did with the early Bond movies...but it's Gregory's Girl and I'm thankful it got a Blu-ray release at all nevermind with a new interview with Grogan which was informative. That US audio track is awful though.
