A trip down memory lane ....,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Last of the Mohicans [DVD] (DVD)
Having watched this as a child, I was delighted to find that it had been released on DVD. With eager anticipation, and fond memories of this television programme, I ordered it, and couldn't wait to watch it again. However, it turned out to be a rather disappointing experience, and probably a memory that was better left in the past.
The story vaguely resembled the original book, but not so you would notice. No use of native american actors in the lead red indian roles - but lots of fake tan. This is nothing like the more recent screen adaptation of this classic novel. It does however, portray more truly the love interest of Uncas and Cora - rather than Hawkeye and Cora - as in the recent screen adaptation - which is refreshing. Don't expect lots of realistic fight scenes/locations (think it was filmed in Scotland), but then it was probably filmed on a very low budget, and probably aimed at a rather more innocent audience, not yet into the flashy/violent television of the current day.
Very much for those wanting to revisit fond memories of watching Sunday night television in their youth.
