This review is from: The Best British Short Stories 2011 (Paperback)
A dazzling showcase of short story talent, ranging from comic through surreal to heartbreaking. Enormously enjoyable, but truly resonant too, these stories linger. My current stand-out favourites (which is tough when so many are outstanding - and which may well change, since this is definitely a collection to return to) are Dinner of the Dead Alumni by Adam Marek, Comma by Hilary Mantel and Alison Moore's When the Door Closed, it was Dark.
