Not USB 2.0,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Black 4 PORT HUB High Hi-Speed USB 2.0 HUB For Desktop Laptop PC CABLE FORCompatible windows 98/2000/me/xp/vista (Electronics)
This is NOT a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 hub.
The item received was tested on a Vista laptop. Windows recognised it was not USB 2.0 - saying the device would run faster if connected via USB 2.0. Transfer from an external drive when connected directly to the USB port achieved > 240 Mbps. When connected through the hub (the only thing connected) it ran at less than 8 Mbps.
Also one of the ports failed to work at all. A replacement item had four working ports - but still not USB 2.0.
The only reason that I have given 2 stars (instead of the minimum 1) is that service from the seller (24HourShop) was otherwise excellent - they responded quickly to email, sent a prepaid envelope for the return and refunded the money promptly. Unfortunately misrepresentation of the product is not acceptable.
Strictly speaking my claim that these are not hi-speed USB hubs applies only to the two that I tested. However, it is statistically unlikely that I received the only two to be faulty in this manner.
If you only transfer small amounts of data then you probably wont notice the difference between USB 1 and 2 - which may explain the 2 5-star reviews.

On the first one that you got, were the USB sockets really really loose-fitting?
I got one, and I'm not that happy with it - I left a review as well if you want the details.

Thank you. If I ask for a USB2 hub i expect all outlets to be high speed. Amazon please note;you are selling a misrepresented item if the commenter is correct.
