Enjoyed but the pilgrimage makes no sense,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Unlikely Pilgrimage Of Harold Fry (Kindle Edition)
I bought this because the synopsis sounded similar to the 100 year old man who climbed out of a window, which I enjoyed.
For most of the book, I found it hard to sympathise with what the main character is doing. His quest makes no sense at all (the author acknowledges this) and he doesn't directly face up to any of his personal problems or regrets until the end. Maybe I was supposed to feel pity but it evoked contempt.
Still kind of enjoyed the book but I found the pilgrimage hard to support.

I am half way through and am getting increasingly exasperated with this book. Harold is supposed to be 65 but seems more like a retarded 85 y.o. to me. Is this supposed to be the point?
