Nice, but expensive and needs an immediate upgrade,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Apple Mac mini (Dual-Core i5,2.3GHz,2GB,500GB HD,HD Graphics (Personal Computers)
I bought this reluctantly as I'm developing apps and need a Mac to compile them on before submitting to Apple. The Mac Mini is small, almost silent and easy to set up. It comes with an adaptor to plug into the thunderbolt port to power one monitor. To add a second monitor, you can get a cheap displayport adaptor - this works perfectly for me.
My Mini came with Lion which then underwent a minor update. However, 2GB of RAM is simply not enough to get the best out of the machine - I purchased a cheap 8GB upgrade which was dead easy to install (unusually for Apple) and transformed the performance. You're never going to get as much "bang" for your "buck" when you buy Apple - you'd certainly get better performance with a PC of the same price - but if you want to go Apple (and assuming you have a keyboard, mouse and monitor of your own) this is the cheapest way to go about it.
One other minor problem - my keyboard was not recognised as a UK keyboard but a Google search and a little monkeying around saw it sorted.
