A longer perspective on neoliberalism,

This review is from: Well, How Did We Get Here? A Brief History of the British Economy, Minus the Wishful Thinking (Kindle Edition)
Ramsay situates the now much-reviled neoliberal movement within an older agenda. This agenda, which he calls the "overseas interest" and is rooted in our imperial history, has long sought the relaxation of financial controls that neoliberals ushered in over the last three decades. Capital accumulated in Britain now sails the high seas in search of higher returns, leaving ruin and poverty behind, as foreseen by the Cabinet committees that considered the scheme in the 1950s.
A shocking insight into how we are NOT "all in this together". Read it, and then read Nicholas Shaxson's "Treasure Islands: The men who stole the world".
