This review is from: Boyhood Island: My Struggle Book 3 (Knausgaard) (Hardcover)
I have read his first two books in the "My Struggle" series and find the third "Boyhood Island" compelling and very on point. I think most people, male and female, can relate to the situations illustrated so eloquently in this book. We all have the embarrassing moments, such as Karl Ove's swim cap for his swim lessons and the resulting harassment from schoolmates, during our school years that are so much like this, we can all relate. A very moving and touching book. Karl Ove writes in such a way that as a reader you "know" it his story, but you don't "know", it is crafted very well. As a Norwegian three generations removed from Norway I can see glimpses of heritage, I cannot wait for 4,5 and 6 to be translated into English. Bravo Karl Ove Knausgaard for an excellent series.
