Good for the steady handed - bad for a clumsy idiot!,
This review is from: Vivitar V8370 Digital Camera - Black (8.0 MP,3x Optical Zoom) 2.4"Colour TFT Screen (Electronics)
I bought this camera because of its relatively small size, but the plastic components are very flimsy which, when put in the hands of a clumsy idiot like me, means that the battery compartment now doesn't close. The image quality is good, but not terribly sharp on faces - especially if like me, you don't have a very steady hand - and in low light conditions, it's like shooting in the dark (...literally!) however, as another reviewer has pointed out, the images look amazingly good when you review them afterwards.
Reviewing the photos can only be done by pressing a button after taking a shot as the captured image doesn't remain on the screen, which I found very frustrating as I like to see what I've taken to know whether I need to try and get a better shot. Also, there is no option for shake reduction (which I badly need as I'm too heavy handed with the shutter) and it seems to take ages trying to use the face recognition feature/ general focusing; by which point my toddler has usually wandered off to do something much more interesting and the moment is lost.
Overall, I have found it a good, simple to use 'point and click' camera with useful features and decent image quality (in the right hands), but I dropped mine on the kitchen floor today and broke the lens so am now looking for a replacement, with a shake reduction option this time!
