... a welcome return for Norton ...,
This review is from: Norton Internet Security 2011, 3 Computers, 1 Year Subscription (PC) (CD-ROM)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I hadn't been near a Norton product in years, as there always seemed to be problems with system resources. Tired of not actually being able to use my computer, I moved onto other products. Although, to be fair, not switching on your PC is the most effective method of internet security.
However, I'd heard good things about this new version, so decided to give it a bash. And, lo and behold, but Norton seem to have got things right. After a quick and painless installation, things motored along quite smoothly, and I had to check to make sure it was actually running. It was. However, this isn't a product for the faint of heart, as there are a lot of advanced settings that you'll want to fiddle with to get things just right. But that aside, it's a top notch product.
It does what it needs to in warning about unsafe websites and suspicious online merchants. It blocks known malicious sites and there's a bit called Norton Identity Safe that remembers user names and passwords securely for online sites. It has a mini update facility that runs every 15 minutes to keep things up to date, and will detect and eliminate viruses, spyware, and other threats. All told, an excellent product and a welcome return (for me) to Norton.
