Perfect fit and sound,
This review is from: Sennheiser CX 685 Sports In-Ear canal Headphones (Electronics)
I've tried 'sports' headphones before, usually the type with a headband, and been disappointed. They always seemed to either be very secure on my head but lacking real audio power, or were just a poor fit to my ears. I'm glad to say then that these Adidas-branded Sennheisers did not fail in either department.
From the start, from opening the packaging in fact, it was obvious the two companies whose names these earphones bear had gone to done lengths to make a quality product. A nice glossy box, well wrapped and presented components, it just says 'this is a quality product'.
Fitting the phones to ones ears is a matter of choosing the right sized tips from the selection given and then adjusting a small extendable soft-tipped arm on each earphone so it fits snugly. Doing all this gives a solid and secure fit. There is an optional clip to attach the cable to your clothing, thus reducing strain on the 'phones, but I haven't found it necessary. I had suspected the extendable arms would be the weak point in the thing, but its been a few weeks now and they still hold the earphones in place satisfactorily.
Sound quality is also really good. Assuming one had the right sized tips, as the fit will affect the amount if sound you hear properly, bass sounds nicely 'bassy' and the rest of the range is also nicely reproduced. These sound like Sennheisers should sound, rather than being just a cheap pair of headphones that have had a fancy logo slapped on them.
Its all good then - I'm very happy with these Adidas/Sennheisers :)
