Familial intrigue at its best,

I thought this book was going to be a feminine journey into inter familial romance. I was wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and read it voraciously. It is certainly a familial saga, but with more darkness than the usual for this genre, and (in my experience), far better executed, and nice to see one not set in the ubiquitous large East or West coast cities of America. The plot is familial, and intrigue and secret based, hidden difficult truths are suggested, but one must not give too much away, other than to say the resolution is deft, and leaves sequels inevitable. Sequels which I would certainly buy, incidentally. But the true quality of this book, is its comfortable written style, descriptive yet not overly so, and characters which are hinted at, then constructed in layers by actions and drama, rather than merely narrative. All in all a clever first class, and original delivery of a recognized genre.
