An album of Modest Mouse tics, but without any heart.,
This review is from: We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank (Audio CD)
A mediocre Modest Mouse album I can't recommend at all. Try his previous album, or any other really. His worst album since Sad Sappy Sucker (his worst album).
Only one track stands out from the telephoned-in shouty Modest Mouse performance, which is "Dashboard", which you'll probably be able to download for free somewhere. So save yourself some money, just buy one track and forget the rest. We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank...Yeah...This was an album on autopilot, shame it didn't sink before they bothered to release it. What a waste of money.

His? Modest Mouse are a band, you are aware of that aren't you?
Dashboard is not a standout track in the least, it's the single as it has the most potential mass appeal. Spitting Venom is, however, a standout.

Well, be honest, Isaac Brock is Modest Mouse. I didn't actually think there's a guy running round calling himself Mr. M. Mouse.
I'll correct a misunderstanding. Dashboards stands out, not as a great track, but against a background of half-baked goods. Dashboard is pretty average stuff by Modest Mouse in general.
One thing I'll agree with most people, my review is pretty rubbish. Re-reading it, I was obviously in a bad mood at the time, being rather disappointed with the album. I should rewrite. It just doesn't compare to albums like Good News For People Who Love Bad News or The Moon And Antarctica.
You should try the 'band' Ugly Casanova, which is all but Modest Mouse in name.
