This review is from: The 120 Days of Sodom (Kindle Edition)
Having found a reference to this book on Stumble as one of the most disturbing 10 books ever written and having read most of the rest I thought "Bugger it" I'll buy that. I learned to read at my mother's knee trying to explain the Beano and Andy Capp to her and never in my life have I read anything like The 120 days of Sodom. I cant really give a full review of this book because I could'nt finish it, I gave up. The visual impression generated by the events I was reading about almost physically hurt my brain and I felt I really did not want to conjure these images any more. Some books are just not worth delving into for your sanitys sake and I think this is one of them. I was not a total stranger to de Sade having read Justine as a schoolboy and some history of his incarceration. No, I dont want to go there.
