TOP TIP FOR BLU RAY REGION B WORRIERS,
This review is from: North West Frontier [Blu-ray] [US Import] (Blu-ray)
Okay so you have just purchased this Blu Ray and are unsure if you can get it to work.
You put the Blu Ray in and hit play, and to your horror, it has come up that it is region A only and your blu ray player doesn't support this blu ray.
Try this trick. I have just read about it online and it worked for me.
Hit stop. So you exit from the status completely and go back to your start screen of the blu ray player. Hit 'top menu'. For some reason it will bypass the region coding page and allow you to watch the blu ray.
It works on my Panasonic blu ray player, when i was upset i couldn't watch the movie and now i am watching it as i type.
Hope this helps others.
As for the film, perfect storyline, script, acting, actors and time when they were making movies. What more could you want?
5 out of 5.

Thank you very much for your top tip regarding the region A version of North West Frontier.I was very intrigued by this important piece of information. So much so that i ordered this bluray from USA.I have a Sony 370 machine.I inserted the disc and followed your information to the letter.Hey presto it worked !!.I am now wondering if it will work on other region A discs or whether this is just a one-off.I live in Norway so i only have region B discs. Maybe your info opens for new horizons.
Thank you !!

Thats a shame. It works on my Sony 370 player as do other blurays.I have some that say region A on the cover yet these play straight out of the box.Stop;top menu, enter. That didnt work for me first time,so i tried again with just top menu; enter. That worked.Try again maybe ??.Good luck !

Some Blu Rays marked Region A on the cover are actually Region Free. Blu Ray's like Shanghai Noon/Knights and High Fidelity.
Check http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/info.php it has the region codes for most Blu Rays.

ok,point noted. In the case of North West Frontier it displayed onscreen a warning that it was a region A disc.I proceeded as mentioned and it was all systems go.I,m sure we agree that regional coding on older films is a waste of time anyway.I do hope you manage in the end.Its a very good film. For my part i was very pleased.Good luck !!

Considering some movies have never been released in other countries I think it's nigh on ludicrous to region code them.
Take The Way Ahead for instance. Can only be purchased from America. Made in Britain. Region A Locked no way around.
How is that fair?!

Why don't you just all buy a region free blu-ray player ? End of problem. Just search on the net, they aren't expensive (except on Amazon at around £ 159) - My Toshiba BDX 1100 was £ 59 two years ago. Probably even cheaper now. Avoid the other big name players like Sony etc.
