Does the job,
This review is from: Hoya 55mm Haze UV Filter (Accessory)
There is not really much to say about this filter - it does exactly what it says on the tin. Outdoor pictures can be more precise because the hazing caused by scattered UV light is filtered out. Note that most digital SLR cameras already filter out UV light prior to it reaching the sensor. The filter is coated only once on each side so expect some flaring or aberration.
This filter is cheap and specific enough to be left on permanently as a protector for your valuable front lens, if you feel that's necessary. It's double-threaded, so you can screw another filter or lens accessory onto the front of it once it is mounted. The filter has a reasonably low profile and will not interfere with most lens hoods, but vignetting may occur on very wide angle lenses, especially when using a full frame camera.
I am removing a star for build quality as the glass is held into the ring by a piece of sprung metal which allows it to move about slightly. I have also had this piece of metal ping out and fly at my face with a larger filter from the same product line, which is obviously a hazard!
