Shame on you Amazon,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Invicta Specialty Men's Quartz Watch with Black Dial Analogue Display and Silver Stainless Steel Bracelet 12839 (Watch)
First off I was over the moon to see this deal and to actually get it too! Amazing, first time I've managed to get something I wanted on a Black Friday deal.
Amazon were fairly quick with delivery and DPD managed to get the rearranged time right (for once!) so all was going well until I opened the Amazon box.
The £500 worth of watch was in a yellow box which was scuffed with patches of dirt - mad me think that this was old surplus stock straight away. Another slightly odd find was the instruction leaflet on the outside of the watch case in the amazon brown paper filling? eh?
Thankfully the watch was in lovely brand new condition so the above was put to side for a minute. I took the watch out and was immediately impressed with the design of the watch face which was shiny and bright and it does look the part. It is bigger than most watches so is not for everyone but I liked that too. I took it out of the case and was a little disappointed with the weight of it, it's not heavy as other reviewers have suggested. I have a Fossil everyday watch and on comparison the Fossil feels way stronger, better built and does rattle like a watch that came out of a lucky bag! (google it!)
The Invicta on the other hand felt cheap, no where near worth £75 never mind the colossal £500 RRP. As I write this review the price has dropped to £250 (still with RRP of £500) If I paid £250 for this I'd be very angry indeed. I expect that the price will drop again considerably over the coming weeks - probably down to a similar price as the US which today stands at $69.99, yes that's $69.99 which at current exchange rates works out at just shy of £47.
This is going back as not as described and I feel conned. I truly believed that Amazon Black Friday deals were bargains. This has proven to me that they are no longer trustworthy. This watch would be good value at £40-50 so inflating it to daft levels just to get trusting customers to buy it is poor show Amazon. Shame on you.
