Verified Purchase(What is this?)

I bought a Kindle for my father for Christmas. Unfortunately there were no instructions with it! He has been unable to register or use it despite downloading the on-line manual.
The first problem was that it was registered to me! I did not ask for it to be. Why does everything need to be so complicated?? You should be able to take it out of the box & use it! Personally I am sticking to my books!

It was registered to you because you didn't tick the gift option! Stick to your books!

Things are not so complicated. You just need to take a minute or two to read what is under your nose.
Call Customer Services they will sort him out. There, how complicated is that?

A Kindle Users Guide' (manual) is already installed on a new Kindel in the book page (last button the right) so there was no need to download one. There are three stages to set-up the Kindle out of the box, 1. set the language..i.e. English 2. enter your wi-fi password, 3. and then then enter your amazon password and email address , assuming you have an account already it should already be entered for you if purchased from Amazon i.e. in your name. if its for someone else then enter the other persons Amazon details.

I still find unbelievable that people cant operate simple things, I new one person once that couldnt turn on the tv, it turns out he didnt plug it to the wall. Things are very simple, the problem is people are becoming dumber, too many crappy movies is brainwashing people.

It would help if you were told this. What if you dont have a wi-fi password or Amazon password?
