False sense of security,
If you have a problem with dogs don't expect this to save you. My dog turns it's head when the Dog Dazer is used and then ignores it. When other dogs come over to meet my dog they ignore it to. Some turn their head and then they ignore it. I am concerned that some purchasers may purchase this product expecting it will help them in a dangerous dog situation, I would be surprised to hear of any attacking dog stopping it's attack due a blast of the Dog Dazer.
The instruction booklet indicates you should use the product when the dog is no more than 20 feet away and suggests it would be better at only 5 feet away. I Dog Dazed a dog at just 1 foot away, it turned it's head and then ignored it.

I am considering purchasing a dog dazer, but there seems to be a big difference in individual experiences. Does that mean that some of the dazers supplied were faulty, or What?

I had very similar experiences as Mr S Hamilton, except I was using this model; Ultrasonic Dogchaser
It would appear that some dogs are not affected, so it is hit and miss whether it will be of any use to you. I never purchased another one.

Since the object of this purchase is to protect against aggressive dogs, then something which cannot be guaranteed is virtually useless. As a result I have purchased another system and which gives a 30 day trial. The dog deterrent must be reliable. If the ultrasonic systems aren't reliable, it's time another system was developed.

I used a device like this many years ago when I had to visit local farms. It doesn't make the dog run off, it breaks it's chain of thought and will often just stop barking/snarling and wander off.

This item does work. It comes with a battery installed. When I used this item and found it dod not work. I than changed the battrery for a new one, and it now works perfectly. Had great fun going to a walk with my zapper in hand, dogs kept well away, great fun and great way to get rid of dogs.
